Biography
Fanny Chevalier studied computer science at the Université de Bordeaux (MSc 2004, PhD 2007), Inria (PDF), OCAD University and University of Toronto (PDF), and worked as a research scientist at Inria for several years, until 2017. She is now assistant professor in computer science and statistics at the University of Toronto. Her research is on data visualization and human-computer interaction. In particular, she has been interested in addressing the challenges involved in the design, implementation, and evaluation of novel interactive tools supporting visual analytics and creative activities, with primary focus on interactive tools for the visual exploration of rich and complex data, visualization and statistics education, the design and perception of animated transitions, and sketch-based interfaces.
